Aims and Objectives

SACFA being a private, unincorporated and non governmental association has the following aims and objectives:

  1. To promote the sustainable utilisation of Nile Crocodiles, including the utilisation for commercial purpose Crocodile products harvested from such Crocodiles.
  2. To protect and conserve all wild Nile Crocodile population in South Africa.
  3. To present its members in dealing with the Government departments, provincial and local authorities, and private organisations, whose function it is to further and promote the farming, protection and sale of crocodiles and crocodile products in the Republic of South Africa.
  4. To take such action as may be required or necessary to promote or ensure the continued existence of the crocodile farming operations carried on by its members.
  5. The Association is not formed for the purpose of carrying on any business that has for its objective the acquisition of gain. The Income and property of the Association, when so ever derived, shall be applied solely towards the promotion of the objects and powers of the Association and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred by way of dividend, bonus or otherwise howsoever by way of profit, to the members of the Association; provided that nothing herein contained shall prevent the payment in good faith of remuneration or reward to any member of the Association in turn for any services actually rendered to the Association.
  6. To promote betterment of human resources in the region and to assist with the up-liftmen and education of local communities.
  7. To maintain and improve general economic sustainability of the crocodile farming operations of its members.
  8. To work towards increasing the membership of the Association by recruiting more members to the association.
